Ubiquiti Enterprise Fortress Gateway (EFG) Configuration

Build a production data center network from scratch using Ubiquiti Enterprise hardware. Walk through every stage of a real deployment, from architectural planning and VLAN design all the way through redundant firewalls, high availability failover, and proper network documentation. Configure Enterprise Fortress Gateways, set up shadow mode for seamless failover, build out MC-LAG switching, and learn the habits that separate weekend lab warriors from working network engineers.

Build the Data Center Ubiquiti Was Made For

Empty Rack to Production Network
Designing and deploy a complete, production-ready data center network built entirely on Ubiquiti's Enterprise product line. Starting from an empty rack, plan a layered architecture using the Uptime Institute's tier framework, then execute a three-stage deployment covering redundant firewalls, enterprise switching, and server connectivity.

You'll configure VLANs across five network segments, set up high availability between two Enterprise Fortress Gateways using shadow mode and VRRP, provision WAN connections with automated SLA health checks, and wire up MC-LAG across enterprise switches for loop-free redundancy. Learn the real-world practices that matter most in production, like staged deployments, out-of-band management, physical documentation, and choosing the right carrier before you ever plug in a cable.

Walk away with practical experience in enterprise network design, firewall redundancy, VLAN segmentation, WAN provisioning, switching configuration, and documentation workflows that hold up when things break at 2 AM.

Trainer

Jeremy Cioara

Hello! If we haven’t met before, my name is Jeremy Cioara. I stepped into the training world back in 1998, teaching a group of phone technicians at US West Communications about this new technology called DSL. I was 19 years old.

Things have come a long way since then… and yet some things never change: I’m still passionate about seeing others light up when what was once a confusing, discouraging topic suddenly clicks. What’s even more exciting these days is that I now bring the experience of building a company (Veeya) that actually does the stuff I teach! I’m stepping back into the virtual classroom with a renewed passion for bringing the real world into my training. Yes—there’s so much more to being successful in technology than… technology!

And yes, my friend, I still say, “I hope this has been informative for you, and I’d like to thank you for viewing.”
