Ubiquiti Data Center:

Pre-Staging, Adopting, and Installing Devices

Get the hardware in the rack correctly, the first time. Covers the real-world physical installation workflow for a Ubiquiti Enterprise data center, from pre-staging equipment and planning a phased migration to adopting the full stack into cloud management. See what a live colocation install actually looks like, learn why rushing it into one window is a mistake, and walk away knowing how to go from a pile of boxes to a fully managed network without an ounce of panic.

THE SKILLS YOU'LL GAIN:
• Plan a phased data center migration that keeps existing infrastructure running while you build around it
• Factory reset Ubiquiti Enterprise devices using both the hardware pinhole and console software methods
• Adopt switches and gateways into Ubiquiti's cloud console using the EFG as your champion device
• Understand top-of-rack placement, collapsed core layout, and how to read a live rack before touching it
• Recognize why physical access to your switches is the most underestimated security vulnerability in any data center

Walk Into the Data Center With a Plan

Install It Right or Install It Twice
This skill walks you through the full physical installation workflow for a Ubiquiti Enterprise data center deployment. It starts with the part most people skip, planning. You'll learn how to read an existing rack, identify what stays and what gets replaced, and stage a multi-phase migration that minimizes downtime instead of gambling on a single marathon install window.

Then, you'll factory reset every device in the stack using the paperclip pinhole method, with a real look at why that same simplicity makes physical security the most overlooked vulnerability in your rack. Then comes adoption. The EFG registers to Ubiquiti's cloud console first and becomes the controller for the entire site, automatically discovering and adopting each switch as it connects. Within minutes, the full topology builds itself on screen.

Wrap with a live colocation install broken into three deliberate stages. Stage one swaps legacy routers for the two EFGs and brings up the Hurricane Electric circuit. Stage two replaces the old switching infrastructure with Ubiquiti Enterprise switches. Stage three racks the production servers and brings the environment live. Three visits, two weeks apart, zero surprises.
Trainer

Jeremy Cioara

Hello! If we haven’t met before, my name is Jeremy Cioara. I stepped into the training world back in 1998, teaching a group of phone technicians at US West Communications about this new technology called DSL. I was 19 years old.

Things have come a long way since then… and yet some things never change: I’m still passionate about seeing others light up when what was once a confusing, discouraging topic suddenly clicks. What’s even more exciting these days is that I now bring the experience of building a company (Veeya) that actually does the stuff I teach! I’m stepping back into the virtual classroom with a renewed passion for bringing the real world into my training. Yes—there’s so much more to being successful in technology than… technology!

And yes, my friend, I still say, “I hope this has been informative for you, and I’d like to thank you for viewing.”
